Dr. López es el director de Programas Técnicos de la Sociedad de Ingenieros Plásticos -SPE- Inspirando a los Profesionales del Plástico de Estados Unidos y cofundador de la firma Sospol S.A.S. Durante más de diez años (2003 - 2022), López fue el director técnico y científico del Instituto de Capacitación e Investigación del Plástico, ICIPC. Además, fue asistente de investigación del Polymer Engineering Center de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison.
El Dr. López ha construido una distinguida carrera como investigador, científico, consultor y docente en temas enfocados en materiales poliméricos, procesamiento y productos plásticos, sostenibilidad y economía circular, ingeniería de empaques, reología de polímeros, innovación de productos y procesos, desarrollo de nuevos negocios, propiedad intelectual, análisis de falla, modelación y simulación,entre otros. Es ingeniero de producción de la Universidad EAFIT, becario Fullbright y doctor en ingeniería mecánica con énfasis en polímeros de la Universidad de Wisconsin- Madison.

Iván Darío López - Director of Technical Programs
Dr. López is the director of Technical Programs of the Society of Plastic Engineers -SPE- Inspiring Plastics Professionals in the United States and co-founder of the firm Sospol S.A.S. For more than ten years (2003 - 2022), López was the technical and scientific director of the Plastic Training and Research Institute, ICIPC. In addition, he was a research assistant at the Polymer Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. López has built a distinguished career as a researcher, scientist, consultant, and teacher on topics focused on polymeric materials, plastic products and processing, sustainability and circular economy, packaging engineering, polymer rheology, product and process innovation, product development, new business, intellectual property, failure analysis, modeling and simulation, among others. He is a production engineer from EAFIT University, a Fullbright scholar, and a PhD in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in polymers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
